We Will Rock You – Creative Team

Saccha is an actor, creator, educator and director in Toronto, ON. She is thrilled to be making her TUTS debut this summer directing We Will Rock You. She was last seen in Mirvish’s hit musical Come From Away as “Hannah and Others”. Originally from Montreal, she studied Musical Theatre Performance at Sheridan College. Since then she has toured Canada, U.S and abroad. Known for challenging traditional theatre, her latest directorial projects for film include: Cell Block Tango: Reimagined and Gethsemane: Black Jesus. Saccha’s passion lies in reimagining classics, developing new works in order to amplify marginalized voices and work toward a more inclusive theatre industry in Canada. As a performer, movement director and choreographer, Shay has worked in the multiple genres of Dance, Circus Arts, Stunts, Film/TV and Theatre. He has performed for numerous companies across Canada, USA and The UK, including Kidd Pivot, Holy Body Tattoo, Pachimama Theatre, Line1 and Company 605. In Vancouver, he was a co-founder of the 605 Collective and is the founder and current Artistic Director of Radical System Art (RSA). With RSA, Shay has produced and directed 5 full-evening dance works that have toured nationally and internationally. In 2010, he received the Holy Body Tattoo emerging artist award and, in 2014, he received Mayor’s Arts Award for emerging dance artist from the City of Vancouver. As an educator, Shay has worked with multiple organizations including Simon Fraser University, L’École Du Danse Québec, The London Contemporary Dance School, The American Dance Festival, Arts Umbrella and Modus Operandi.

Chris is an actor, music director, educator, writer, and composer based in Vancouver. This will his 9th show as Music Director with Theatre Under the Stars. He has worked for many wonderful theatres on the west coast: Gateway Theatre, Chemainus Theatre Festival, United Players, URP. He has spent many a joyful TUTS season on and off stage sometimes in the same show such as: Newsies, 42nd Street, West Side Story, and Hairspray just to name a few. He has also been an instructor at Capilano University, Studio 58 Langara, and UBC. Recently he performed/co wrote 3am in the Persian Room a show about Kay Thompson.
